The prices at both Walmart and CostCo in Lihue are lower, but at some distance. So shop there when first arriving on the Garden Isle, prior to your drive north to Princeville. CostCo's food items, more limited in variety than WalMart, tend to be be in only larger sizes - so the length of your island stay will determine if CostCo is useful to you.

The parking there can be really bad. It is about 3-4 miles toward Honolulu from the airport. There is a Walmart & Sam's Club about 2 blocks behind Ala Moana Center.
