For travel insurance, you should look at regular providers such as Blue Cross, Manulife, CAA, or any other insurance provider that sells insurance. Definitely not an Online Travel agent (OTA) that will give you no end of grief.

The travel agency (Cheapoair) replies to our cancellation request by stating that since the flight is not cancelled they are unable to reimburse us, that the only condition when reimbursement may be possible is when the airline cancels the flight. A catch which I am so far unable to overcome.
And OP doesn't know whether the "insurance" only makes his/her airfare refundable, and in what circumstances. What about other expenses if the trip needs to be cancelled, such as prebooked hotels? Does it include medical coverage, rental car insurance, lost or delayed luggage - all components available in a standalone travel insurance policy.
