Beware of Payless car rental at ATL. 9 years ago. I Reserved a full size car (4 people, luggage and Christmas presents) for $70 per day at the Atlanta airport. I understood this was price gouging but needed a car. Upon arrival the Payless representative said I was late and no other full size cars are available (bait and switch anyone).
I reserved a car on line and called their offices to make sure all would go smoothly and no hidden costs. When I arrived at the rental car service desk my $174 week rental and $88 'insurance" purchase I was told "was not enough for the requirement". So Payless was going to require and charge me $425 for "their required" insurance.
WAY overcharged when we picked up car. Jul 2024 • Family. I wish I had read all of these terrible reviews before booking a car through Payless. I actually booked the car through Delta Airlines, because it was the cheapest car rental option I could find. It was supposed to be $482 including all taxes and fees.

But, w/ a full size car at $10/day compared to $45 w/ the major companies I took a chance on Payless Car Rental. I"m happy to report, the experience was no different from any other car rental company.

Answer 1 of 23: I made a reservation online and had a confirmation number sent to me. The price that was provided included all fees, charges and so forth, but when I went to pick the car up they wanted me to pay 3X my quote cost?

It was reported that during the pandemic (remember, Kauai opted out of the Hawaii Safe program and just recently rejoined) that they sold off or transferred a lot of their vehicles off of Kauai. Report inappropriate content. 6.
