Normally, I look up the car price on Hotwire and then reduce it about 20-25% and bid on Priceline, eventually beating the Hotwire offer. This time, Hotwire was so cheap, I didn't even bother. Both Hotwire and Priceline use Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, Alamo, and Budget, as I have had cars from all of those.
For folks out looking for a rental car there check with your Costco, BJ's, or Sam's club to see how the rental car prices compare. For Costco just go to the Costco site and use the travel link. They have partnerships with many of the major car rental companies. We happened to use Alamo both times b/c they were the least expensive with Costco.

Do not use hotwire, you will be locked in to the rental before you know who its thru. The only issue with car rentals is they charge you when you make the booking and if the price goes down, tough luck. Case in point: Back in August I booked a car rental thru Hotwire for after Christmas and 2 days before my trip the price went down by $40 for the week.
