It has been many many years since we went to Hampton Beach. We decided to take a day trip and went to the southern part of the beach. We were able to reserve parking online on the NH State Parks site. This was a new part of the beach for my wife and I. We were pleasantly surprised how nice the beach was, but was very crowded.

Oct 2020. The trail up/down to the beach is hazardous, and not for the weak of heart. Getting down was a moderate hike, but going up was problematic. Stay away unless you are are good physical condition. The only roadway access is blocked by the lifeguards to discourage any normal people from entering the beach. what you see is often unappealing.
The park is beautiful with many different types of trees. There are pathways to walk or bike on and a beautiful beach to enjoy the lake. You can just sit back on a bench and enjoy the sunset or take your dog for a walk through the park. There is a playground for children to enjoy and many picnic areas.
