   I usually reserve a mid-size, and twice I was upgraded to full-size for free. Just ask the attendant in the lot when you are going to pick out your car. I was told they could upgrade me from mid to full for free, but anything higher than that I would have to pay the difference.

   Answer 1 of 16: First time into MCO this April but rented from Alamo several times over the years. I have been fortunate to have lot attendants willing to upgrade my ride as a "complementary upgrade".

   We need more details. It is like a rental car company saying the cost of a 4 day rental is $200 but the final bill is over $300 'cause of airport surcharges, taxes, etc. I would guess that when they told you the upgrade was $160, it did not include any of the supplemental charges. I do hope you like the upgraded car.
