I Wish I Would Have Read The Reviews Before I Rented From Sixt Car Rental. Sixt rental cars is a scammer rental company, at least at its Maui Hawaii office. On day 3 of a week Hawaii vacation at a restaurant location, the rental car from Sixt did not start. After contacting the office, another car and tow truck was sent to site.
I took a taxi to their office and they were closed. I can’t reach anybody on their phone number to get a refund for the one day of car rental and the hotel bill for $198 and the taxi ride for $25! Once I got over to their office the next day, Demetris gave me an upgrade which was very nice and George, shuttle driver, picked me up at the hotel.
Answer 1 of 15: I plan to rent a car from Sixt but am worried about their rental terms and conditions. They can charge for the "loss of use" and the "diminishment in resale value" after an accident, according to their rules.
The best protection I have found is the American Express Premium car rental insurance plan, which provides full coverage for about $25 for the entire rental period, not per day, like the rental companies charge. You do have to have an American Express card, however, use it for the rental costs and reject the rental company's insurance offer.
The under 25 fee is $99 maximum for the entire rental period. You should book a car with all required insurance included. You do not want to buy it when you arrive here. How old will the renter be? If you can rent a car from an airport located car company- your arrival and departure will be much easier and quicker.
