The 18th & Vine area is where the Jazz Museum & Negro Leagues Museum are and there is more to see & do. BTW: They are in Kansas City, Missouri, about 2 miles from Kansas.

If your concert is on the weekend, parking is free at Crown Center over the weekend and there is a free streetcar from across the street at Union Station. Gates is a Kansas City institution. They are well organized and the bar-b-que is very tasty. We went to the one on 12th Street and service was great. We dined in. They also have a small bar attached to the venue. In addition they have a parking lot. Good experience and if in the area again, will be visiting.
