    1. Re: Avoiding Toll Road from DIA. 12 years ago. It is easy to avoid the toll road. The highway signs are well marked. Don't take the first exit that says E-470 toll road. You want to continue on Pena Blvd to I-70 WEST, then a slight right on I-270W (there are signs for Ft. Collins) which takes you to I-25 N to Ft. Collins.
