16 years ago. If you want to be sucessful on Priceline then you need to have a look at the website www.biddingfortravel.com. This will help you bid on Priceline and get the best price. Priceline does work when bid properly. I have gotten a number of hotels in the city for $75 or less;'4 stars around Union Square.
What you can do is learn from your experience. If you are going to bid on Priceline or book a blind Hotwire Hotrate room you really need to research prices before booking. I think some people believe companies like Priceline and Hotwire are going to do the work for them, but they don't.
With Priceline, when you place your bid, a screen commonly comes up that states "your bid of $90 per night is very low and the likelihood of winning is slim. You can increase your bid to $180 a night and have a good chance of winning" (or something like this). Ignore this screen.
