Re: How far out can I book a Costco package? 7 years ago. Absolutely wait until at least after the first of the year if not slightly longer. Although rates are available way before then only because they have to have something available, the true 2018 rates won't be known until early 2018.

Lots of people seem to book vacation packages to Maui through Costco. From what we hear on the forum most are very happy with the experience. I’m curious what your own experiences have been with booking through Costco, and I hope you will share the ins and outs you’ve learned about. I just booked a package for the first time in a long time I usually book pieces individually but the Costco package was $200 cheaper and it saved me not using $200 worth of miles so a net savings of $400. At the time the Maui Gold pineapples were only 2.99 each. So with a $3 roll of packing tape, my box of 6 pineapples cost me $21. This is also the gift that keeps on giving, as I root and plant the tops in our Hawaiian resort-inspired garden. We've gotten one pineapple so far from plants we've been planting since 2016.
In West Maui, I would consider the Ritz Kapalua, Honua Kai, or one of the timeshare resorts like Hyatt Residences, Westin KOR, Marriott Ocean Club, or Westin Nanea. Costco is good for flights and cars, but not always for condos or hotels. For the timeshare resorts, Redweek is a much better deal.
