I live in Toronto Canada. I booked a small car on January 4, 2020, for a week (Jan 15-Jan 22) through CarFlexi. I paid the deposit and I supposed to pay the remaining $146 US to Avis Car Rental in Costa Rica. When I arrive at Avis, the person at the desk refused to charge me the balance of $146 based on my contract.

If the inside is dirty, they can charge $250.00. Ten minutes of vacuuming seems like there was more than a little dirt.

The cars exterior was not washed and the interior needed vacuuming. No one at the counter could help me and they referred me to customer service. I did not get reimburse for the cost and replacement for the new cabin filter. As a National Car Executive member I thought I would give Avis a shot. I made a mistake. The counter staff was slow.

I booked a car to my vacation thru travel agent, paid in full the amount of $219.78 including taxes and insurance. At the airport for pick up the Avis's agent Angelo makes me agree with a extra insurance stating that my insurance only covers 80% and Mexico is dangerous, violent, lots of vandalism, broken windows, car crash, bed roads, crazy divers.
