The purpose of linking is to clarify and to provide reasonable navigation opportunities, not to emphasize a particular word. Do not link solely to draw attention to certain words or ideas, or as a mark of respect. External links normally should not be placed in the body of an article (see Wikipedia:External links ).

In computing, a hyperlink, or simply a link, is a digital reference to data that the user can follow or be guided to by clicking or tapping. [1] A hyperlink points to a whole document or to a specific element within a document. Hypertext is text with hyperlinks. The text that is linked from is known as anchor text.
On Wikipedia, an inline citation is generally a citation in a page's text placed by any method that allows the reader to associate a given bit of material with specific reliable source (s) that support it. The most common method is numbered footnotes within the text, but other forms are also used on occasion.
If you have a URL (web page) link, you can add it to the title part of the citation, so that when you add the citation to Wikipedia the URL becomes hidden and the title becomes clickable. To do this, enclose the URL and the title in square brackets—the URL first, then a space, then the title. For example:

Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum.
In addition, a Microsoft Word add-in is included, which adds features including equation numbering and formatting displayed equations (as opposed to inline equations), which are features that MathType does not add to other applications. On Macs, there is no analogous standard to OLE so support is not universal.
