Amtrak has been offering a free companion far coupon. The code is H815 and good till May 21, 2010. I have a few of these and they say they need original coupon but try and book.

So the least expensive way for you to travel on the Acella is to book for travel during one of the "off" times of day when the fare is a bit cheaper than for peak hours. It doesn't include sleeper inventory, so it really is immaterial when it comes to sleepers. Also sleepers tend to sell earlier than coach. 2.
5. Re: Amtrak Deal: Two-for One! 2 years ago. Those are just samples of routes/fares. T&C clearly mentions excluded trains/routes. I just did a test booking for Reno-Buffalo, and the saver coach fare was the same for one passenger as two passengers (with the discount code) - $189 (one way).
