Parking without a permit is free, but limited to two hours during certain hours. I believe those hours are 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, but as always read the signs carefully--especially the meters. 18 years ago. Word to the wise: The parking may be free if you park in the lots of the businesses and shopping centers situated near Metro stations, but the fees to get your car back from the towing companies are definitely not.
