NOMA area safe? 7 years ago. Our family (2 adults, 10yo & 9yo) will be traveling to DC 9/1- 9/5, staying at Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol @ 33 New York Ave NE. I've been through the reviews on the hotel TA site and safety seems to be a trending theme in most posts.

Yeah I see that $90 difference. It really is to attract customers to the location. $139 for the NoMa one is very low for DC in general, including breakfast and kitchen. Report inappropriate content. Elizabeth H. Washington DC... Level Contributor. 335 posts.

I don't know about the rating but that part of NOMA has changed a lot and is now a mixed-use office area. I wouldn't really worry except late at night if you're coming back from a bar or something. The Red Caps usually hang out next to the taxi drop off at the main entrance, or sometimes at the Red Cap stand next to the Baggage Carousel across from Gate E or F. Below is a map of the Union Station. You should look at the Street Level. Arriving from Metro, there are two entrances. They are the M symbol on the left side of the map.

I'm debating between staying as a repeat guest in a Foggy Bottom hotel that we have previously enjoyed versus trying out either the Hyatt Place or Hilton Garden Inn near the NoMa/Gallaudet U metro station. On the day of checkout we will need the hotel to hold our ...

1 year ago. I have an 0810 departure of regional train from Union Station to NYC on a Monday morning next month. I plan to get there as early as 0630 and specifically to wander around many sections and areas to appreciate the architecture, history etc and to absorb the atmosphere of the active terminal- hey, I love trains.

    4. Re: Driving Through (Or Around) 11 years ago. Okay, grab a map and play along at home with some interstate naming history. There will be a quiz afterwards. I-95 was originally intended to run through the city, but this never happened. For many years, the entire Beltway was I-495 (no 95 co-designation) and the current I-395 was designated I-95.
