11 reviews. 13 helpful votes. Can you return Budget Car rental early? 3 years ago. So I booked a car from SFO Budget and (returning in Oakland) a few months ago for a 9 day trip for $700. The trip now has to be shortened to 6 days and I'll need to return the car early. If I rebook that trip, I'll end up paying $1020 now for the 6 days.
If you have already checked out the car, you can return it early and there should be no rate difference. Budget's weekly rates are for 5-7 days, so you could potentially pay more if you returned it after 4 days and 23 hours. You can also change your rental while you have the car out over the phone at 800-218-7992.
1. Re: Car rental return after hours. Hotels with Hertz desks usually allow after-hours drops in the parking garage. But usually they don't check the car in until they open in the morning, meaning that you might run up an extra days' charge depending on what time of day you originally picked up the car.

OAK after hours car return? May 25, 2024, 4:15 PM. According to the Oakland airport's website, all the main car rental companies in the car rental place are open "24 hours." However, according to some of the individual rental companies' websites, there isn't actually anyone there until 7:00 in the morning. My flight leaves at 6:00.
