If you were to take the car back early, you might be charged for 6 days, instead of the cheaper weekly rate. Report inappropriate content.

No, if the 4-day total rate is higher than the weekly rate you reserved, and you return it on Day 4, they are going to charge you the 4 daily rates. Offering to pay them the weekly rate still is no benefit to them since it's less income.
MARTA fare is $2.50/person per ride so your two trips for the two of you will cost $10. It should be easier/faster to return your car on Sunday as traffic will be less than on Wednesday morning. You take the Skyway train from the rental car center to the airport terminal where you catch the MARTA train up to Midtown so that would be an easy trip.

The trip now has to be shortened to 6 days and I'll need to return the car early. If I rebook that trip, I'll end up paying $1020 now for the 6 days.
