1. Re: Rental drop off at O'Hare in Chicago. 6 years ago. All the rental agencies are in the northeast corner of the airport off Bessie Coleman Drive. Just follow the signs from I-190 (Kennedy Expressway) as you enter. After you drop your car, each company has a shuttle bus that will take you to the terminals.

Usually the buses stop at both the Bus/Shuttle Center (near terminals 1,2 and 3) and at the International Terminal (T5). If you must go to T5, there is construction on the connecting ATS train, and you may need to use a shuttle bus. The bus runs from exit 3F.
2. Re: From Terminal 5 to Terminal 1 at O'Hare. Help! Presuming you are on a connecting UA flight, once you walk through customs with your luggage, you will see a recheck desk for your checked baggage. After that, as stated, you will need to take a shuttle bus to T1, where you will then go through security again.

Unless they have changed the configuration, there are 4 or 5 racks of carts spaced out along the the departure drop off area between doors 5A and 5F, all just a few feet from the curb, easily accessible.
