I've just started to research the next trip - a 19 day stay, collecting the car from the airport at New York and returning it there - and find them priced at £1274 and £1488, for the 19 day trip. Other rental car companies have better options for tourists. Enterprise, National, and Alamo have a toll option that allows you to use the cashless lanes, and you will be billed for the actual tolls incurred plus a fee of $2 a day for each day you incurred a toll, up to $6 total per rental. That is a much better value.
Reviewed April 23, 2021. Whatever you do, do not rent from Dollar Car Rental!! They have the worst customer service I have ever seen from a company in my life. You are much better taking ubers or public transport. First, we had to wait 2 and a half hours after our reservation time in order to get our vehicle that was RESERVED.
3. Re: Dollar Car Rental - Bad Reviews on Yelp. 8 years ago. Unfortunately car rental agencies in general have poor customer service although I typically have great service with Enterprise. As bad as it can be here in the US, try renting a vehicle in other locations around the world. Almost never a good experience.

Dollar car rental scam. When we picked up our rental car at LAX on June 01st, we specifically told the agent at the front desk, that we did not want any extra Insurance - package because we were fully covered by the pre-booking. He asked us twice, and we answered him very clearly twice: NO WE DO NOT WANT ANY, THANK YOU.
Then there are extortionate airport service fees and other miscellaneous charges totalling another $160. To cap it all, the whole lot is taxed for another $50. In total, our $480 rental became $899. Absolutely unbelievable - never had anything like that in all the hundreds of cars I've rented around the world.
