When check-in here at TripAdvisor a few minutes ago, a pop-up window showed telling me, that I was to-day's winner of at TripAdvisor Gift Card at the value of USD 500. Somehow it didn't look right and I clicked it off, anticipating it was a scam.
It is a scam when businesses don't honor the program. You managed to find the T&C page. Good for you.. I read it before getting the card. Nevertheless it is the businesses that are not cooperating with this program.. hence rendering the card useless specially because it is locked to certain stores and you can't switch to others once you get the card.
