Basically, any card that has an American affiliation will not be accepted: MBNA, Capital One, CitiBank, AMEX, etc. - even if they are Canadian such as my Canadian Capital One MasterCard. Credit cards from Canadian banks such as TD Canada Trust, BMO, Royal Bank, CIBC are accepted at cadeca's. I'm not sure about Visa vs. Mastercard though.
Answer 1 of 5: Hi All went to Cancun and used an MBNA Card ... they are hugh and issue Visa and MC ... they tacked on a separate 3% foreign fee... so if dinner ended up $100 USD a second line on Credit Card statement showed $3 USD.
