For more money, they will rent a 3/4 ton or 1 ton 4x4 Dodge, but that would be slightly silly as it would cost you extra for fuel. If you really, really want a pickup, stick with the 1/4 ton. It will be quite big enough and will have you sitting up at an slightly unaccustomed height. Hunting is questionable in summer.

That's between Aransas Pass and Port Aransas. There is a park there in the area. If you have a kayak you can launch that. And then you can catch Pompano.
