Greetings Barbara, The section of Route 29, Greensboro, N.C. up to Charlottesville, VA, I-64 West, has a number of small cities & towns, with traffic signals, varying speed limits, and local traffic. I prefer I-81.

    Re: Directions for avoiding the Mobile Tunnel. Excellent directions..particularly the part of taking a left at 98 and going along on the causeway until you see that I 10 is clear. If I 10 is not clear..continue on the causeway and go up the hill and turn right at the light, go a couple of miles and join I 10 East.
