    I used a local sim (Viettel) that way you get messages from the driver without any issues. I've haven't used a UK sim with Grab in Vietnam, so I can't confirm if it works the same as a local sim. But generally I found Grab app works well, cheaper then taxis and mostly the cars are clean and tidy compared to some taxis I've been in.

When you open a grab account you have to add card to the account as an alternative payment; I am sure there is an option setup in app. I used card payment a few times back in early β€˜20. However, many grab drivers prefer cash payment. Report inappropriate content.
