368 helpful votes. 1. Re: Driving through Kansas. 12 years ago. Save. If you are staying on I-70, I recomend visiting the Grassroots Arts Center in Lucas. It is a hoot. Also the Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Hays and the shopping and restaurants on Mass Street in Lawrence.
Answer 1 of 5: I was curious if I should stay on I-70 to Limon and then take 24 on in to town or if I should get off I-70 at Oakley and come across 40 & 94? Also if 40 Hiway 2 lane or 4 lane?

Salina has many more options for food and lodging. Both cities have a lot to do, though Old Abilene town is far down my picks.
