However time pressures sometimes means it’s easier to see the sort of prices on offer on an aggregator site rather than traveling through each supplier individually. I’ve learned a lesson though. Priceline.com has a feature called 'Name Your Own Price' and I believe the way it works is you enter a price that you'd be willing to pay for a flight to wherever it is that you'd like to go, and if they find an airline who accepts your offer, your credit card will automatically be charged and you'll be booked on that flight.
Most planes are flying pretty full, and many airlines have cut their routes, so I have not read of many people getting great bargains on "name your own price" for airfare. You can always find the lowest pricing booking directly with the airline and try. Suggest you go to a site like betterbidding.com, if you haven't already, to learn how to bid.

Hi half-Brit. I have used Priceline for car rental and just used the insurance provided by my credit card. I go to Hotwire and do a dummy booking. Then I take that rate and subtract about 15% to get the amount to bid on Priceline.
