Re: Ear infection from hot springs. If its a run-of-the-mill ear infection the self-diagnosis is OK. If you don't feel better within a few days, though, best to see an MD. I know a young lady who's blind in one eye due to a protozoan infecting her retina. This happened from submerging in a chlorinated hot tub.

Antibiotics are not available over the counter and require a doctors prescription in Spain....your options are either.... go private and use your health/holiday insurance to visit one of the many private doctors in Caleta. ( the quickest and easiest option)... or if it is an emergency then use her EHIC card ...
