why people would take an antibiotic without being seen/diagnosed by a doctor is beyond me. do you do that with other medications? probably not. how will you know how much is safe to take? taking an antibiotic "just in case" is not a good idea. maybe you should talk to your own physician before you go on your trip. just my opinion.
