Alamo/Costco didn't come close to Dollar's DHCR prices for our 2018 trip. With some reluctance, we made the switch to Dollar. There were no problems with Dollar's quick car pick-up or drop off. For 2019, we've reserved Dollar through DHCR -- with frequent searches for lower rates at Costco & Autoslash.

So the last two times I used this company (albeit 6-7 years ago) it was a complete cluster - like 1-2 hour wait at the desk to get a car. I see a very good deal on autoslash -$435 for 10 days, and debating cancelling my Hertz rate at $515, but not if it is a mess like last time.

Then call Discount Hawaii Car Rentals with your new reservation number they give you. Best thing about Dollar: if the price goes down anytime before your trip you just cancel what you have and book the lower price.
Just checked the Discount Car rental site, and noticed that they're offering a car through both Dollar and Thrifty (for the 23 days I will be there, from June 6 to June 28) both for $617 (that's $80 lower than my current booking with Enterprise, booked through Alamo (booked a compact).
Best of. Answer 1 of 11: Upcoming trip in 3 weeks!! Yay!! I have reservations for a full-size car over 11 days with both Dollar (via DHCR) and Avis (via company). Dollar costs $445 and Avis is $490.
