Our bill was exaclty what was estimated at reservation time, $85.00 plus taxes and fees, $128.00. I must say, I would definately use Dollar or Thrifty at MCO location again. We got a great car. Check in was not so bad.
Other rental car companies have better options for tourists. Enterprise, National, and Alamo have a toll option that allows you to use the cashless lanes, and you will be billed for the actual tolls incurred plus a fee of $2 a day for each day you incurred a toll, up to $6 total per rental. That is a much better value.
Never used them in Orlando but they were awful in LA a couple of years ago. Waited over half an hour only to be told the car was nearly ready, nearly being another 45 minutes. Couldn't complain about the car but the service at Alamo is infinitely better.
Afterward I reached out to Dollar.com online via chat and they verified that LIS insurance is not "required in Florida and California". I have had a great experience with Dollar car rental at Sanford airport, my flight was delayed by hours and they stayed open late and made sure everyone had a vehicle before closing.
