At the counter, Alex informs us that the mid-size car we rented will not have automatic door latches or windows, apparently as a prelude to trading us up. I thought it odd, but said I didn't care.

   Just want to alert fellow travelers to what I feel is shoddy business practices by Payless car rental. I reserved a car at the San Diego airport, listed my arrival time as 10pm and received a booking. I just happened to check on the location and shuttle before I left only to find out that the office and shuttle closes at 10pm .
