Go up to the Whalehead Club grounds in Corolla - there are lots of wooden piers/bridges there where the kids can have a ball crabbing. All they need is some line and some old chicken necks and a net.

    Thanks for the responses. So it sounds like the best deal is to trailer down to KDH area. It looks like the depth improves somewhat south of the bridge and into the Albemarle Sound, is that correct? Not looking for any hard core fishing, just getting out on the water and throwing a line over.
