17 years ago. If you go out door 10 or 11 at the airport, you will see the shuttle buses. Just hop on and they will take you directly to the facility. Hop off, and when you get inside you'll see all the rental car agencies. When we went in May we thought it would just be a big confusing mess but it's really easy!
2. Re: Which Rental Car Companies Are Easiest at Airport. All car rental facilities at LAX are off-site, and you will need to take a shuttle from the terminal to get to one. I would stick with the major firms - Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty.

1. Re: McCarran Rent-A-Car Center shuttle buses. They are 24 hours a day, and in the wee hours they'll take you right away instead of waiting for a shuttle to fill up. However, you should check the hours of your rental car company. Most of them are open round the clock, but some do close.

Most car rental shuttles including Hertz pull up to the 'traffic island' in the roadway in front of exit door for baggage claim at each terminal. The traffic island has color-coded signs hanging over it. Look for the PURPLE overhead sign that says "Rental Cars".
