So I went through and had the current reservation cancelled and went back to the website to reserve the same vehicle but use the 25% coupon. Well, that didn’t work, the price was higher on the vehicle that I wanted to reserve and it wouldn’t take the coupon, so I called Thrifty up.

They're one of the companies that's always cheapest and that people often have problems with: pushy upsells on the insurance and fuel options, poor quality cars that lack maintenance, extra charges and damage at return.
Answer 21 of 35: I was a little nervous after reading some of the bad reviews on this site. But, w/ a full size car at $10/day compared to $45 w/ the major companies I took a chance on Payless Car Rental.

The rental was something like 10.50USD/day. The basic insurance was $14 per day, and the full coverage was $23 per day from payless' website. That really sucks that VISA says it is covered in mexico, but it really isn't. In thier policy section also from the "Mexico Insurance and Credit Card Coverages REVISED" thread.
