    If you need to re-check, it is not enough time. You can enter Hong Kong with your HKID as mentioned. Entering China ( Shanghai ): you need to choose. Go as a US citizen, for US protection - use US passport and a proper China visa. Go using HKID and Return Permit - without US protection.
