Unfortunately, a travel card has to start on the day it's issued, however, it can be put on an Oyster Card anytime simply by going to one of the ticket machines in any Underground Station. So, if you are staying 3 nights in a room at $125- you'll pay the $375 plus have another $300 placed a hold on. So, $675 will not be available to you on the card.
