    The cashback is good choice but unfortunately many debit cards issued by czech banks are showed as credit cards in the payment systems. That is fine for car rental but it does not work with cashback. Although my card is debit (and it is also written on the card) no cashback was possible (I have tried it in Foodland).

    (1) For a credit card -- use Capital One. I have a Cap card ONLY for travel, as I am happy with my other credit cards for daily life. Yes, Cap One, (and all banks/credit card cos) takes a little bit "on the float" but that is all. And those who think 3% isnt much -- on a $5000 vacation, its $150. Which you could use for a lot more fun things.

    We use Visa at Wal Mart, Mega, La Comer, Costco all the time. Never an issue. We check our account online regularly for any issues. Credit cards are actually the safest method, as you’re not responsible for any spending thats not yours. The down side is that they shut down your card if it happens, so we always have more than one credit card.
