I wanted to find out what kind of CDW is included so I asked both Alamo and Rental cars and couldn't get an answer out of either of them (rentalcars just pasted what's above and ignored my second email). Alamo say they have 3 types of CDW: -CDW3 (Waiver Saver 500): covers up to $500 of loss. -CDW2 (Waiver Saver 3000): covers up to $3,000 of loss.

Hi, I'm just looking for a bit of clarification about an Alamo rental from LAX. We had booked on their website and were happy with the total etc and wanted to add CDW at pick-up ... the guy at the desk added "Extended Protection" at $14.99 per day, when I questioned this he stated is was legally required ... we told him we had insurance of our own but he insisted.
1. Re: Alamo - car insurance. Apr 3, 2024, 4:16 PM. CDW with zero excess should cover damage to the car in case of a collision. Check to make sure it also covers the complete loss of the car (due to theft) and car damage due to vandalism, weather, etc. Also make sure if it covers tires, and windows/windshield.
CDW is Coliision Damage Waiver (same as or includes LDW as others term it) and EP is 'Alamo speak' for SLI, (Supplimentary Liability Insurance) or full Third Party Liability up to $1m usually. You can find all those terms if you use the customer support section of the website, cliock on contact us.

Answer 1 of 4: I have read some posts about this but i still have some doubts... I think CDW and LDW are the same, but i couldn't find in a rental company's site what was the exact coverage and amounts related to this.
