I recently have been looking for a rental with unlimited miles myself. Some car rentals like avis and budget advertise unlimited miles, but read the fine print. They often limit the so called "unlimited miles" to only a handful of states, with a 25 - 35 cent/mile surcharge for any miles outside of those states.
I use Enterprise 90% of the time. A smallish place-- usually only 2 or 3 options in my "intermediate SUV" category BUT never once have I had an issue with unlimited miles. Just got back from a 9 week rental with Enterprise that was "unlimited miles" but on checking, unlimited was actually 3,000 per month. We had to report miles after 1 month and were charged excess per mile if we went over which we did the 2nd month.
7 years ago. Unlimited means unlimited. I put over 12,000 miles in 3 weeks on a rental Corvette out of Denver a couple of years ago. No such thing. Only option is if you have an account with Hertz/Avis (created internationally) and under a plan e.g. corporate or private (example via AMEX Platinum), you can get something like this.
I booked with Enterprise over the summer.
