I realize the world has changed since COVID hit, but I assume the car rental agencies’ past well-earned reputations continue today.
Re: Avis Car Rental. We had lucked out and got the corporate American Airlines discount and they reserved the car and we skipped the counter. On the lower level they have a board with your name and spot number for the vehicle on the deck where the cars are. You do have to see the counter to pay for the rental. 5.

Most of the time with Avis Preferred there will be a board with names on it, if your name is there with a stall numbers, you just go to the stall, check out your car for damage, get in, go to the exit and give them your license and paperwork and you are on your way.
4. Re: Car rental - budget vs Avis. 3 years ago. Budget at OGG is notorious for long waits due to short staffing. Avis is the same company, but they don’t seem to have as many problems. I think their customers might have first dibs on the cars over the Budget customers.
16. Re: Best/Worst Car Rental company these days. 1 year ago. My experience has been the opposite DHCR always seems to beat Costco. A lot depends on when you book. For my next stay of 25 days in April/May 2023 I booked with DHCR on the first available day possible to book.Costco would not let me book that far out.
Best of. Answer 1 of 11: Upcoming trip in 3 weeks!! Yay!! I have reservations for a full-size car over 11 days with both Dollar (via DHCR) and Avis (via company). Dollar costs $445 and Avis is $490.
