   Budget vs Avis vs Alamo. I am using Discount Hawaii Car Rental to book a jeep for my honeymoon in August. We are staying 10 nights and getting the best price from Budget ($687) but I have read some bad reviews about them. For an extra $160 we can get a similar car from Avis and an extra $300 we can do Alamo.

DHCR Alamo has also come down in price and is only about $25 more than Thrifty for the same category. Which one should I go with. I transferred my Thrifty rental to Thrifty to use the skip the counter blue chip program.

   Hello, I'm looking to book my car rental for this Feb through Costco, prices between companies are pretty similar so I was wondering if these days one rental company has been better/worse than the others for vehicle quality/cleanliness upon pick up and for overall service. Right now Avis and Budget have the best prices.

   Re: Avis Car Rental. We had lucked out and got the corporate American Airlines discount and they reserved the car and we skipped the counter. On the lower level they have a board with your name and spot number for the vehicle on the deck where the cars are. You do have to see the counter to pay for the rental. 5.
