Now I cannot speak for Canadian AAA membership, but I know that I could save at least 10% on a posted rate. But, and there is a catch! You must watch carefully that they do not apply this savings to a "market" rate.
My daughter rented a car on July 3, renting directly with the rental company because she travels for business and her schedule is never predictable. The car rental company charged her card for $300 more than the actual cost of the car rental. Today they have still not released that money back to her credit card.
