    Hey Iris, I bought my annual travel insurance with AXA Travel and I've been using them for 3 years now. Once, I got my wallet stolen in Fuqing, China. I called AXA hotline right away and they gave me detailed guidance on what I need to do to make the insurance claim (getting Chinese police report, photocopy of boarding pass, travel documents, etc).

    I came across AXA insurance from SingPost (Essential Plan), their coverage seems to be slightly better than MSIG but premium is also slightly more, by about $4 only.     Travel insurance is a complete waste of money, hopefully, but utter madness to travel without it. There's a zillion ways of the unexpected happening, so for the relatively small cost in the scheme of things, travel insurance is, in my opinion, essential. Have a safe trip.

    Yes, provided you have S$30k in specific covid medical cover, you're right, on that front only though. ETA: That means you can pick a policy that doesn't cover treatment for covid, but beware that many insurance policies also cover a partner's travel disruption etc.
