   Answer 1 of 5: We have rented a car through Discount Hawaii Car Rental on Maui and Kauai on the advice from this forum that they are the least expensive and great to deal with. The reservation was made through them with Alamo for both islands.

So I reserved a car with the Discount Hawaii Car rental website and so far got it down from $425 to $374, using Alamo. However, I can get the same car /extra driver with them through Dollar for $330. I went with Alamo originally because you can pick your car.
