I think its an impossible calculation because not only do you have to compare the price of the hotel on the airmiles website, there is also the question of what might that cost you if you bought it from another source entirely (say an online travel agent or directly from the hotel) , and also, perhaps there are alternative hotels, eg if you can stay at the 3 star Acme Hotel in London for 1,000 ...
