However time pressures sometimes means it’s easier to see the sort of prices on offer on an aggregator site rather than traveling through each supplier individually.
I think Priceline has gotten away from their original sales model. They used to mainly offer blind bidding for potential steep discounts. When I looked at Priceline recently for a car rental their prices were comparable to booking through any other third party or booking direct and most of the listings named the rental car company.

So these scammers you speak about who charged you $128 extra, is the rental car agency if this was a pre-paid rental.
Answer 1 of 18: So we have a rental through Hertz...and Autoslash just emailed me saying they found a lower price...the thing is..our car insurance is USAA so we get that discount (and we are gold members), which saves us literally hundreds of dollars since we are...
So I now have a reservation with Hertz. I used Autoslash/Priceline. Once I made the reservation I notice the discount code used by Priceline is a Visa cardholder code. This is not very obvious and you don’t see it until you look closely at your confirmation email. Considering we don’t hold a Visa you would think this would be problematic.
