For picking up car rentals at MCO, for car companies such as Alamo or Dollar, are they located onsite, i.e. walk to cars, or do we need to take a shuttle to the car rental companies off site locaiton or to a car rental center? Thanks.

A third option would be to park off-site and wait for her to call you and say that they have claimed their baggage. I prefer to park and wait at the Dennys ...
Rental counters can take a while. I believe MCO is the highest volume rental car airport in the US. If you join the rental car company's rapid pick up plan, this is the place to use it. They are very organized but if there is a chance for being delayed it will happen here. Allow 30 minutes to pick up your car and be on your way.
Save. Most rental carcompanies are onsite at the airport. The only major companies that are offsite are Enterprise and Hertz-they are a shuttle drive away. However, all other major companies (Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar and National) are onsite and are just a very short walk away. Report inappropriate content.
And Alamo lets you check in for your car in advance so you just go directly to the category of car,pick one and drive out.Or they have kiosks in the airport. We just rented through Budget and were out in less than 5 minutes-and we rented through Hotwire so a little extra paperwork
