I wear contacts, but never on a long haul. I couldn't wear them for 15 hours - my eyes would suffer. Years ago I was advised to get prescription sunglasses and these are what I use when travelling long haul - may look a bit stupid, but they serve a purpose.

I've just checked the websites of the two largest drugstore chains, DM and Rossmann, and they only sell their own-label lens solutions. As suggested, try a branch of Fielmann or Apollo, or note the ingredients and see if you can get a comparable product.
i never wear contacts on long-haul flights. i sleep well on planes and as i usually give my eyes a rest and wear glasses a couple of days a week, i just make a long-haul travel day one of those days. especially since opti-free brand solution still annoyingly seems to come in only 120ml bottles (and i have checked in other countries i travel to, all the same).
i pointed out before that it is the security in the airport that dictates what can go through, but it is possible that delta might have a lower limit than the normal security. unlikely , i know, but their ticket will draw the travellers attention to the limits. i dont know if different states have different rules, but the gist of my note was for the traveller to stick to the limits of the usa ...
