Hi TA members, I am looking to purchase excess reimbursement for my rental car I book through Blue Car Rental for our trip in June. My rental agreement comes with $1500 self-risk and does not cover underside and tyres of the vehicle. Upon research, I came across Travel Guard offering $9 per day up to $35000 coverage but with $250 deductible.
I declined it because this insurance is provided through my credit card, if I rent the car on that card. I see that some still advise paying for it even if you have credit card based coverage, because it can take time and effort to get these costs repaid (presumably you have to pay it yourself up front) in an international situation.
Answer 1 of 6: I just booked car rental thru carrentals.com for an economy car thru dollar. The price was great and they offered insurance thru Travel Guard that was also a really good deal.
